Random things about me.

This thing is going around on facebook and I wanted to participate, but I'm closing my facebook account in a couple of days.  Some things about me that you may not know.

1.  I make a major effort to be completely authentic.  When I hear a Pastor mention sincerity, Without Wax (as the Greek would put it) I pray that God will mold me without wax.  Hypocrisy is one of my biggest turn offs and although I'm sure some of my sin nature slips through the cracks and I am undoubtedly hypocritical at times, I really try my hardest to be 100% real.  I wasn't always that way, it's been a struggle to get here, but I work at it constantly.

2. I was born in the middle of a snow storm and because of that my Grandpa nicknamed me "Stormy".  Somewhere over time, as I got older, he stopped calling me that and now that he's gone, I miss it.

3.  I want to have another baby.  My youngest is 6 years old now, and even though we expected to have a gap between children, it's gone on long enough that I'm worried I'll never have more children.  I have many friends who have had multiple children since Allie was born and I am very happy for them, but know that I too could have a couple more kids running around had we not waited.

4.  I feel a sense of urgency about the decline in our culture.  It makes me anxious about what's coming and fearful that our world is going to get much harder to live in than we can imagine.  It actually makes my #3 very difficult to ask God to bless me with another Child and I frequently pray to God that He will withhold the blessing of another child if detrimental persecution is coming.

5.  I love to listen to Rock Symphony music while I journal or if I'm reading.  My favorite is David Garrett.  I turn it on and turn it up as loud as my ears can take it.  Something about drowning out the outside noises helps me focus on the reading or writing.

6.  I love weddings.  I love everything about them.  Weddings in Vegas with an open bar reception and another where the ceremony was in front of the Waterfall at The Flamingo.  I've been to an elopement where my husband and I were the only witnesses.  Casual weddings and big elegant weddings.  I loved every single one of them.  I've taken photos for beach weddings and church weddings and even a yacht wedding and in 2 months I'll be taking GRAND CAYMAN 7 mile beach wedding photos.  I look forward to even more in the future and eventually want to specialize in weddings and couples only.

7.  I prefer sleeping in cooler temperatures.  Hard to do in the summer because of the cooling bill, and hard to do in the winter because Steve does not feel the same way about the cold.  Our first winter together, I asked if he would trade me sides of the bed so I could sleep next to the window and crack it open at night (in Utah).  He thought I was crazy and when I was trying to explain to him that I like the room really cold, I couldn't think of the word, all I could spit out was "I like it cold, like a...like a... dead person's place".  "Like a morgue?".  Yeah... that.  Now it's an ongoing joke between us.
