itely have. So to start out with, the big news, our new car was rear ended. Only 9 days into it, still with a fresh temp tag on the back window. We were sitting in the left turn lane on Bangerter hwy at the entrance to i-15, the light was red, and we had been stopped for about 20 seconds or so, count to 20 right now and you'll understand that it's long enough to be seen as completely stopped at a red light. She knew she had messed up and took t
he blame right from the start. We had a little trouble getting Allie out of the car because neither of the back doors would open, so Steve pulled her over the front seats and we made sure she was fine, which she was. I talked to the woman who hit us and she admitted that she had been looking at a vehicle that was high-centered on the median and when she turned around it was too late to stop, s
he tried to go around but was too close at that point so she ran into us. She was probably going about 30 MPH when she hit us and there were tire marks from her so I don't think she hit the breaks, she was counting on being about to go around us, but with no time to react properly it just didn't work. She was very remorseful and was terrified about Allie being in the car. The police showed up and made the report and we though we would just be able to drive the car away, but when we pulled off the bumper we realized that the frame was pushed right into the tire, there was no way at all for us to drive the car away. We called a friend to come get us and watched our new car get towed away.
So her insurance company gave us a rental, told us to buy a new car seat and a week later offered us a $1200, which we hesitantly accepted.
Also this was the week of the scrapbook expo which I've been really looking forward to, so bright and early Friday morning I hauled my butt out of bed and got out of the house in time to pick up 2 girls so we could get to the expo by 7:00 AM and stand in line for an hour to get our tickets, then stand in line for another hour to get into the expo. It's well worth it to get a table to sit at all day and scrapbook with friends. We got started right away with some shopping, after
all we needed some supplies for all the scrapbooking we planned to do. I had to leave for a little bit to pick up my paycheck but other than that I was there till midnight. The next morning I went to Coffee Talk where we talked about what was acceptable in the bedroom in God's eyes. It was pretty interesting, and a few giggles and a couple hours later I headed back to the expo and scrapbooked till they kicked us out at 6, then we got together at Crystal's house to scrapbook into the night again. I was so tired the next day and had scrapbooking on the brain so bad that I was thinking about page layouts and pictures non stop. Yeah as you can see I took one really lame picture and we are missing one, Caitlyn was already gone when I snapped this picture on my blackberry... I should have got some better pictures of us.
So then this past week I was able to go to a concert because a friend of mine had one extra ticket. My husband stayed home with Allie so that I could go see Big Daddy Weave and Josh Wilson, which if you have never heard then you are seriously missing out!
Josh Wilson opened up the show and he is unique because he does the work of a whole band all by himself. You're imaging a guy with cymbals strapped to his knees and a head gear type harmonica holder, maybe something strapped to his back... It's not like that at all. He strums the guitar to sound like a drum and records it by pushing a pedal with his foot and then he makes the sound of the base doing the same thing, then he can add acoustic or anything else, no cymbals or headgear required.
Big Daddy Weave was great. They had an awesome energy and the place was packed. I had a great time and decided to stick around for autographs after the show. I was even able to get a picture with Big Daddy Weave.
I SO glad that you guys were ok after that crash, especially Allie! And thank God that the force didn't push you in front of moving traffic! I'm glad you had fun at the scrapbook expo; I had fun too even though I left early. I only got two pages done; I'll take some pictures and show you one of these days. they're not very good!
